Hull adds touch of Vegas with new £100m super-casino plans
The mixed-development scheme, which is being ran by the Manor Property Group, is set to begin later this year after Hull City Council granted planning permission and a large casino licence to Apollo Resorts & Leisure, after years of delay.
The planning award allows the scheme to go ahead after the Manor Group were previously given planning permission for the work, which will take place on the east bank of the River Hull.
The plans will see the new casino, a 23-storey apartment block, which will become Hull’s tallest tower when completed, a 185-bedroom hotel and accommodation for 590 students in the city. New restaurants, a sports bar and retail outlets will be built as part of the plans.
Manor Property Group’s Philip Akrill said in a statement that the company is “delighted to be able to move this development forward” and this scheme will “breathe new life into the east bank of the river Hull”.
What do you think about these plans – is a super-casino something that Hull needs?
