Bournemouth gets construction boost with £500m town centre plans
Construction giants Morgan Sindall have signed the deal for the scheme, which is a joint investment with Bournemouth Borough Council.
The project is expected to take 20 years to complete and the development work is expected to cost £350-500 million. The work will include building new housing, leisure attractions, shops and offices all around Bournemouth town centre.
This is a huge project and will likely create thousands of construction jobs for plumbing, electrical and gas contractors, as the project won’t be completed until at least 2031.
This is also refreshing news considering the precarious financial state the UK is in with stories about the economy all over the news at the moment. It just shows that big construction projects are still going ahead and there are still plenty of jobs being created in places like Bournemouth due to schemes like this.
